Windows 2000 server is one of the most powerful operating systems that Microsoft created after Windows NT although windows 2000 server has been replaced by windows 2003 server; it still remains a capable operating system that works with many hardware, devices and software suites.

There is 3 versions of windows 2000 server : windows 2000 server, windows 2000 advanced server, and windows 2000 Datacenter, each has it’s own advantage like windows 2000 advanced server  that allow to double the memory (RAM) support from 4Gb to 8Gb , the processors from 4 processors to a machine that have 8 processors for more speed , and enables to group many servers to act just like one server , windows 2000 datacenter offers more (RAM)  up to 64Gb and can handle a machine with up to 32 Processors.

In addition of handling strong machines, windows 200 server has advanced tools like Active Directory Services (ADS) which you can find it in windows NT but not that strong , you can use it to support a bigger network with strong configuration where windows nt you can only manage small network.

Another tool that s very important in windows 200 server is (DDNS) Dynamic Domain Name Service it offers an internet method of tracking computers  just like you browse to find the location of a web server, you can find other computers and resources by using ddns, change computers naming etc…

Windows 2000 server have a higher IIS (Internet Information Service ) version IIS version 5, which is more powerful and reliable web server then it precedent version 4 , restarting a IIS5 can be done without rebooting the machine and more strong features can be found in IIS 5.
